| Deep inside the Yamanaka mountains lies a beautiful piece of craftsmanship, the Ayatori bridge. The bridge reaches over the Kakusenkei Gorge, providing amazing views of the river below.
The bridge itself is something unique. It is curved, almost like an "S" shape, and its beams are arranged at various different angles. "Ayatori" actually means "cat's cradle" and you can see why when looking at the intricate construction.
The bridge is coated in a wine red paint, which does make it stand out a bit during the summer time, but I imagine if one were to visit Ayatori Bridge during the autumn or spring months, it would blend seamlessly with the reds and pinks of the landscape.
I think it was a great piece of craftsmanship, and was something unique about Japan, and Ishikawa that I am lucky to have seen!
